Platform comparison

We shape our tools and thereafter our tools shape us.

Selecting the right productivity platform from the start is hard, selecting the wrong one and having to change later is harder. We’re specialists in a broad range of tools so you can be confident that our recommendations suit your business and the industry you operate in.

Having trouble selecting the right productivity tool for your organistion? We’ve taken some of the guess work out of technology selection with our all-in-one (AIO) workspace comparison below.

Notion

www.notion.so

Founded in 2016, Notion was initially the answer to the question ‘what would a platform that enables anyone to build a system without code look like?‘ and has since become something closer to a movement. For those that know and use Notion, their business couldn’t exist without it. Notion has a point of difference to other productivity solutions: a focus on knowledge and the power knowledge can have when shared across a business.

Notion is clearly doing something right because there’s a never-ending list of Notion-clones being released all the time such as Anytype, released in March 2023, as well as Microsoft Loop and appflowy which were both released in November 2023. But we still think Notion wears the crown (for now) 👑

Companies that use Notion: Figma, Pixar, Headspace

monday.com

www.monday.com

Renamed from daPulse in 2017, monday.com sets itself apart with a tight focus on automations and integrations. Ever wanted your CRM to integrate with your project management? Those are the kind of deeper problems that monday.com hopes to solve with what they call their “WorkOS” – a platform for building your system.

Think of monday.com as what Microsoft Word is to a novel – it’s a blank slate for you to write your story.

Companies that use monday.com: Coles, Flight Centre, Officeworks

Accelo

www.accelo.com

Accelo is the Australian SaaS that launched as AffinityLive in 2011 before renaming in 2015, ready to take on the world of productivity for professional services. If you want profitability at the centre of your productivity platform, Accelo could be for your business.

Unlike WorkOS platforms like Notion and monday.com, Accelo is a system itself; the experience in Accelo can’t be customised to a high degree. But an off-the-shelf solution might be exactly what your business needs.

Companies that use Accelo: 3 Media Web, Vector, Larson Accounting Group

Your search for a solution will no doubt uncover 10s if not 100s of other platforms – some centred around different business functions, ideas or specialisations that we haven’t covered in this very brief writeup.
